I personally wanted to comment on what diversity and inclusion means to me as we enter Celebrate Diversity Month. I believe we are all different in one way OR another. Not only do I want all of us to be aware of our marvelous differences, but I want our differences to be celebrated. Throughout April, I would like all of us to spend the time understanding our team members differences, ask the questions to better understand the challenges they may have with this difference and gain greater respect for our wonderfully diverse MIG family. By having a much grander appreciation of diverse backgrounds and cultures, we will be able to continue expanding the inclusion of different cultures and backgrounds in the future as this company grows.
As we focus and celebrate our diverse background and culture at MIG, I believe we will also gain better understanding of our clients. We will be better equipped to understand the difficulties present for our clients who are in the LGBTQ+ community, non-native English speaking, or Black, Indigenous and People of Color.
